Khun Sawasdi Horrungruang, a self-made Thai billionaire and visionary entrepreneur, serves as Chairman of the Board of Advisors. He has backed EPN and Pipper Standard® since its inception and has known the co-founders, Peter Wainman and Sirilak Narongtanupone, since 1998.
As founder and chairman, Khun Sawasdi built leading companies across multiple industries, including steel, industrial estates, real estate, power generation, and logistics. Notable companies he founded include Hemaraj Land and Development, N.T.S. Steel Group, Nakornthai Strip Mill, Millennium Steel, and Sriracha Harbour, Thailand’s first and largest private port. He started his first company at the age of 18.
For his contributions to Thai industry, Khun Sawasdi has received numerous awards, including Top Industrialist in Thailand. He has also held leadership positions in several industry associations, such as the Thai Industrial Estate Association and the Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand.
Deeply committed to public service, Khun Sawasdi served as a Member of the Thai Senate (1996–2000) and as Vice Chairman of the Senate’s Economics and Industry Committee. Over the past five decades, he has served as an advisor to multiple Thai ministers and prime ministers on economic and industrial matters.
Khun Sawasdi holds honorary degrees from Burapha University and Rajamangala University of Technology.
